Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrated form of platelets that are extracted from a person's own blood. These platelets contain growth factors, which are proteins that help to promote cell growth and repair. PRP or the "Vampire Facial" is a procedure that involves injecting PRP into the skin. This is done to stimulate the growth of new collagen and elastin, which are the proteins that give the skin its strength and elasticity. PRP therapy can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including wrinkles, scars, and hair loss.

  • The first step is to draw blood from the patient's arm. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood cells. The platelets are then concentrated and injected into the area of the body that needs treatment.
